Herbert W Boyce painting
You wouldn't believe that this painting was done in 1916 in the middle of the First World War. Boyce was a painter from the NE of England and was well regarded in his day. He exhibited at many top galleries.
I love this painting. It has drama in the movement of the river banks and yet has a stillness in the meandering of the river. The crisp precision of the white bridge, the dramatic sky and the lovely palette of colours make it dynamic and interesting.
It has a new frame and glass and is 50 cms x 87 cms.
